Protected payments are locked by the Masumi vested_pay V2 validator, unchanged. Simpuru deployed its own instance of it, parameterised with Simpuru’s arbiter key instead of Masumi’s admins, so disputes can be settled by Simpuru’s arbiter. Addresses and parameters are on Deployment.

What the datum holds

Every lock carries the buyer and seller, the amount, the input_hash and later the result_hash (see Content commitment), four deadlines and a state.

States

When the lock is spent, the purchase ends as withdrawn (seller paid) or refunded (buyer paid back).

Who can spend it, and when

The exact times are on Deadlines. After either side acts on an escrow, that side waits a short cooldown before its next action on it: 60 seconds on Simpuru’s deployment (see Deployment).

Who is the seller in the escrow

For a creator’s listing, a Simpuru platform wallet is the escrow’s seller of record: it signs the quote, posts the result and collects. It then pays the creator their share (see Get paid). This keeps creators from having to run anything themselves.
