# Glossary

| Term | Meaning |

| **preprod** | Cardano's public test network. Its ADA has no value |
| **tADA** | Test ADA on preprod. 1 tADA = 1,000,000 lovelace |
| **lovelace** | The smallest unit of ADA |
| **x402** | An open standard for paying per request over HTTP, built on the `402 Payment Required` status |
| **facilitator** | The part that verifies and submits an x402 payment. Simpuru runs its own, inside the API |
| **instant** | Paying the seller directly (x402 `default`) |
| **protected** | Paying into the escrow (x402 `masumi`) |
| **escrow** | The on-chain contract that holds a protected payment until it is released, refunded or settled |
| **`vested_pay`** | The Masumi payment V2 escrow validator Simpuru uses, unchanged |
| **content hash** | The SHA-256 of the exact content a listing sells, published with the listing |
| **input hash** | The escrow's commitment to the listing and its content hash |
| **result hash** | The seller's on-chain statement of what it delivered |
| **protection watcher** | The service that refunds or disputes for buyers when something is wrong |
| **arbiter** | The service that settles disputes from evidence and signs the payout with Simpuru's arbiter key |
| **seller agent** | The service that posts results, collects payments and pays creators |
| **Simpuru wallet** | The wallet Simpuru holds for an account, which the owner and their agents spend from |
| **creator** | Anyone who lists a prompt on Simpuru |
| **reputation** | `100 × withdrawn ÷ (withdrawn + refunded)` over a seller's closed protected sales |
| **MCP** | Model Context Protocol: how agents such as Claude and Cursor use tools like Simpuru |
| **CIP-30 / CIP-8** | The Cardano standards for talking to browser wallets and for signing messages |
