# Risks

> What can go wrong, and who carries it.

| The watcher is down at a deadline | A refund or dispute is sent late; the seller could collect first after the unlock time | The buyer, until the watcher is back |
| The arbiter key is lost or misused | Disputed escrows cannot be paid out, or are paid wrongly | Buyers and sellers in dispute. A multi-key arbiter is planned before mainnet |
| Simpuru's server is compromised | Simpuru wallets and the platform seller wallet are at risk | Account holders. On preprod, test ADA only |
| The content is bad but matches its hash | The hash checks pass and the seller is paid | The buyer. Previews and reputation help |
| Blockfrost or the network is slow | Purchases take longer; deadlines still hold on chain | Everyone, briefly |
