# Quickstart

> Read the catalogue, look at a purchase and see an x402 quote, in five minutes.

The API is public at `https://api.simpuru.xyz`. Reading is free and needs no key.

    Each listing has its price in lovelace, the seller, the delivery modes, the `contentHash`, and when available a `previewMedia`, `category`, `sales` and `sellerReputation`. The paid content is never in this response.

    The answer is `402 Payment Required`, with a base64 JSON `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` header listing up to two ways to pay: `default` (instant) and `masumi` (escrow). That's the x402 quote. Paying it is on [Buying over x402](/developers/buying-over-x402).
